There are a number of reasons why there has been a huge increase in the number of personal weather stations around our villages, towns and cities. Probably the two most important are the wide range of readily availabie equipment and the reducing cost of providing one. OK, so I can get one on line, our local electronics store or even at a grarden centre at a readily affordable price but that doesn't explain why I would go to the bother of spending my money on what some consider to be a toy,
In my case I have had a fascination with the weather and recording it since I asked for (and received) a Triang weather station from Father Christmas way back when I was 10 years old.
